College football season is approaching, which means it’s time to take a closer look at what could be another loaded year in the SEC. On3’s comprehensive 2026 conference preview breaks down the teams, players and storylines that will shape the season, from the league’s strongest contenders to the newcomers positioned to make an immediate impact.
When it comes to the College Football Playoff, Texas and Georgia stand out as On3’s best bets from the conference. Texas faces the SEC’s toughest overall schedule, including an early home matchup with Ohio State, but Steve Sarkisian’s roster could be his most talented yet. After missing the playoff last season, the Longhorns won’t have many excuses if they fall short again.
Georgia isn't far behind. The Dawgs have made the playoff every year but one since 2021, and the lone miss came right after a 29-game winning streak. Hardly a program in decline.
Those are only two of the many topics covered in On3’s complete SEC preview. Click below for the conference’s toughest schedules, top quarterbacks, best transfers, leading coaches, complete power rankings and everything else you need to know before the 2026 season begins.
