A sad face and a happy face drawn on a chalkboard.

Polls show Americans have less confidence in ICE, Trump, tariffs and more. But what is the U.S. doing right? What makes you proud of our country?

Texas legislator James Talarico campaigns for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate on Oct. 30, 2025, in Amarillo.

What I don't like about Talarico is why he might win

Texans must choose a candidate who can be a powerful double-edged sword: A Republican who can represent them well in Washington and beat Talarico.

Election Day on March 3, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas.

Primaries are outdated. I don't want a say in my party's nominee.

Those who are uneasy about voters being cut out of the process should recognize that the median voter already is cut out. The structure is broken.

Alberto Carvalho, superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District, welcomes students displaced due to the Palisades Fire on their first day at a new school on Jan. 15, 2025. On Feb. 25, 2026, the FBI executed a search warrant at his home and office.

FBI raid casts suspicion on both LA school superintendent and Trump

The FBI raid of Alberto Carvalho's home and office should cast a long shadow of suspicion over his tenure. But not under Trump's weaponized DOJ.

After McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski went viral for his Big Arch taste test, other fast-food executives decided to join in on the fun.

McDonald's CEO Big Arch taste test mocked. I did my own to defend him.

Mean people on the internet have been mocking McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski over a video in which he gingerly samples the Big Arch burger.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem attends a House Judiciary Committee hearing on "Oversight of the Department of Homeland Security" to testify, on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., March 4, 2026.

Noem is out at DHS. It was a long time coming.

Kristi Noem's ouster ends a needlessly volatile time for the Department of Homeland Security and signals a reset for the Trump administration.

Protesters against Immigration and Customs Enforcement rally on Feb. 1, 2026, in Cocoa, Florida. Their signs refer to Renee Good, who was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.

Congrats, Trump. Even Republicans want ICE gone.

For the first time ever in YouGov polling, 50% of Americans now strongly or somewhat support abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

President Donald Trump speaks to reporters in the Oval Office of the White House on March 3, 2026.

The Iran war isn't splitting MAGA. It's creating healthy debate.

It is a healthy, important part of our democratic process to debate and question our own leaders. That doesn't mean there's an internal civil war.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman addresses a summit on artificial intelligence in New Delhi, India, on Feb. 19, 2026.

Trump wanted a less 'woke' AI company for Iran war. Enter: OpenAI.

The artificial intelligence model you've been using to write your emails and offer dating advice has officially struck a deal with the Pentagon.

President Donald Trump departs the East Room of the White House on March 5, 2026, in Washington, DC.

Trump pardoned a former NFL player for weed. Now do normal people.

Second chances matter. I know this because I served nearly a decade in federal prison for a first-time, nonviolent cannabis offense.
