Dear Friend,
If you have been watching the news recently, you have likely seen the headlines coming out of Venezuela. The political situation is shifting rapidly, and with it comes a wave of uncertainty for millions of families.
It is a stark reminder of a truth we know well: Governments come and go. Regimes rise and fall. But the Church remains.
For years, long before the current headlines, Southern Baptists have been on the ground on the Venezuelan border helping meet the physical and spiritual needs of those fleeing their home country, and they are still there today.
I was recently looking back at this video from a few years ago, when IMB President Paul Chitwood traveled to the border of Colombia and Venezuela. You can watch it here: https://vimeo.com/335050649?fl=pl&fe=sh.
I wanted to share it with you because it's a reminder of the importance of consistent missionary presence in hard places. At the IMB we don't just send missionaries, but we create the support and structures that help them stay on the field for the long haul. It is because of the prayers and generosity from everyday people that the IMB can send and keep missionaries in challenging places like these.
Would you take a moment today to pray for our missionaries currently on the ground? Pray that God would continue to strengthen them in their work!
Thank you for your partnership in the gospel.
In Christ,
