"It Was Inadvertently Posted": What the White House said about Trump's now-deleted RTs

Bannon, Banished: He's pretty much been relegated to a temporary office in the Executive Office Building

Kid Rock Gets Establishment Support: Senate Leadership Fund president is "actually very interested in his candidacy"

What the White House is Talking About:
President Trump is back in New York City today, having arrived last night at his Trump Tower digs. Today he holds a meeting about rebuilding US infrastructure and gives a statement on the topic before a scheduled return to his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

What the White House Press Corps is Talking About:
Deja vu. For many in the press corps, being back at Trump Tower makes it feel like campaign season all over again. Also, Trump's tweets this morning, which were ðŸ¤”.

But First, Tweets:
Two were about today's Alabama Senate election, but one was a retweet of that Fox News story from yesterday claiming Trump was considering a pardon for Joe Arpaio. Trump deleted that one, but this was the tweet that really made eyes pop this morning. Imma leave this here.

Srsly!?:
Asked by CNN what exactly the President of the United States meant by tweeting this particular image of a man getting killed by a train, a White House official responded: "It was inadvertently posted and as soon it was noticed it was immediately deleted." Follow up questions about who posted it, and who deleted it, were not answered.

BTW, Trump only follows 45 accounts on Twitter, so we've made a list of them to see what it's like when he looks at his feed, and where he gets his retweet material. Here it is

CEO Watch:
Three CEOs left Trump's manufacturing council yesterday, more could walk by the end of week. Trump tweeted implying the three who left are "grandstanders" who "should not have gone on." If you're keeping track at home, here's an updated list of who's left:

Bannon, Banished:
CNN's Kaitlin Collins with some good details on what life is like in Steve Bannon's world these days -- he's pretty much relegated to a temporary office in the EEOB, having fallen out of favor with Trump. Remember, Bannon was a regular Oval Office presence, who reportedly had "walk-in" privileges. But, keep in mind, a (diminished) Bannon inside the White House is probably a more pleasant thought to Trump world than a fired Bannon outside ...

Still, The Mooch says Bannon should be fired. And that he thought his own tenure in the White House would have lasted longer than "a carton of milk." Anthony Scaramucci said this, and other choice bytes, on last night's "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," which, according to this CBS press release, reaped the ratings benefits of booking America's favorite loose cannon.

JAVANKA Take Vermont:
A White House source tells me Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner (and kids) are currently on a mini-break to Vermont for two days, and will be back in Bedminster by Thursday morning. The New England visit had been in the works for some time; Kushner is scheduled to leave for an extended trip to the Middle East later this month.

Our Daily Melania:
Dame Helen Mirren had some choice words for Ivanka in the cover story of the September issue of Allure magazine. Mirren is not a fan: "[Ivanka] talks a good game, but there's no substance. Her book is so ignorant about how the majority of women live, talking about 'Make time for yourself to have a massage.' Puh-lease."

However, Mirren does seem to have some dark admiration for Melania Trump: "You look at old Mel there, and she is one of the most powerful women in the world because she could take him down. She almost did that with the hand. [She puts on a Disney Evil Stepmother voice and mimics the hand brush-off seen round the world.] 'Don't touch me.' "

Must Read:
The Atlantic's McKay Coppins wrote a wrenching play-by-play of former Trump campaign aide A.J. Delgado's experience getting pregnant with Jason Miller's baby and deciding to have the child, on her own. The material is salacious, and the story also is a must-read about the eye-opening realities of campaign love affairs and the carnage left in their wake.

Once a bastion of the preppy uniform, it's fast-becoming a symbol of hate groups

What Washington is Talking About:
It's Election Day, with special primary elections in Alabama to fill Jeff Sessions' Senate seat and in Utah to fill Jason Chaffetz's House seat.

What America is Talking About:
A Colorado jury ruled in favor of Taylor Swift yesterday in her groping case. In a statement, she promised to donate to groups that help sexual assault victims defend themselves.

Poll of the Day:
President Trump's approval rating has hit a new low in the Gallup Daily tracking poll, at 34%.

Charlottesville Aftermath:
Suspect James Alex Fields, who's charged with second-degree murder after his car plowed into a crowd of protesters, killing a woman, appeared before a judge via video link Monday and no bond was set. Trump called out the KKK, neo-Nazis and white supremacists by name Monday, calling them "repugnant." In Boston, a Holocaust memorial was vandalized. And in Durham, North Carolina, protesters pulled down a Confederate soldiers monument.

North Korea Calls Off War... For Now:
Kim Jung Un has reviewed his plan to fire four missiles near Guam and isn't moving forward with an attack, basically saying the ball's in the "foolish Yankees'" court, per state media KCNA. I love that he calls us "Yankees."

Kid Rock's Possible Senate Bid Gets Establishment Support:
Senate Leadership Fund president Steven Law said on C-SPAN they're "actually very interested in his candidacy." And if that wasn't enough, former New York Gov. George Pataki tweeted, "Kid Rock is exactly the kind of candidate the GOP needs right now."

Another big question about his possible candidacy is whether his stage name, Kid Rock, would appear on the ballot instead of his birth name, Robert Ritchie.

Fired Google Employee Disavows Alt-Right:
James Damore, who was fired by Google after publishing a document about diversity at the company, told CNN that although alt-right members have expressed support for him, "I do not support the alt-right."

"There's a very strong idea that the left ideology is the only ideology possible. We should be able to express differing opinions," he said. "I'm a centrist, and they're calling me a Nazi. That is a real problem."

...Baby One More Time is Coming Out in (Pink) Vinyl:
Urban Outfitters announced a limited run of Britney Spears' debut album in pink vinyl yesterday that sold out, BUT IT'S BACK. I just pre-ordered mine. It comes out in November.

Street Art Sighting:
Conservative street artist Sabo has lost his Facebook page for publishing what Facebook says is "hate speech," and he doesn't plan on going back.

"IMAGINE IF YOUR PHONE COMPANY SHUT OFF YOUR PHONE BECAUSE THEY DISAGREED WITH YOUR POLITICAL OPINION," he tweeted (tweeting in ALL CAPS is his style).

Sabo also criticized Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in a recent "F🖕CK ZUCK 2020" poster.
