A pivotal moment for Lindsay Clancy

Clancy is back in court today for a key hearing that could mark a major turning point in the closely watched legal battle for the mother accused of killing her three young children. Prosecutors are expected to reveal more about their plans to retry or drop the case. Meanwhile, the defense will urge the judge to find Clancy not guilty and to investigate a holdout juror.

•	Speaking of that juror: Their attorney criticized Clancy's defense in an interview on Fox News.

A huge 'hybrid storm' is moving in

If you haven't heard enough about rain recently, a soggy, potentially dangerous week is ahead for a "huge" section of the Southwest and central United States, forecasters warned, as remnants of Hurricane Polo interact with a separate, sprawling weather system to bring days of rain and heavy to "excessive" flooding. See if you live in the affected areas.

•	In the Northeast: The nor'easter triggered flood advisories from Maryland to Massachusetts.
•	And in the Atlantic, a new tropical storm has appeared.

Young voters are fired up for midterms

Could Gen Z and young millennials reshape the midterms? New polling suggests they might . More than 95% of voters ages 18 to 29 say they're excited to cast a ballot this November, a sign that young people will show up in bigger numbers than they did in the 2022 midterms. If that energy carries through to Election Day, younger voters could play a decisive role in some of the nation's most competitive races.
