Celebrating the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Dear Friend,
Today, August 15, the Church joyfully celebrates the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This beautiful feast commemorates the belief that Mary, having completed her earthly life, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory.
While this profound mystery was celebrated as early as the fifth century, it was formally defined as an infallible dogma of the Catholic faith on November 1, 1950, by Pope Pius XII.
In celebration of this feast day, we invite you to support Word on Fire’s mission of evangelization. Just as Mary points us directly to her Son, our ministry works tirelessly to utilize modern media to draw millions of searching souls into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. Your generosity allows us to continue producing high-quality videos, articles, and books that carry the truth of the gospel into a culture in desperate need of it. Will you make a gift today?

As you celebrate the assumption today by attending Mass, participating in a parish event, or reflecting on Mary’s fiat, we ask you to consider making a financial contribution to help us sustain this work. Mary’s assumption reminds us that our true, ultimate home is in heaven, and with your vital support, Word on Fire can continue guiding modern culture toward that same heavenly reality.
Blessed Virgin Mary, assumed into heaven, pray for us!
God bless you,
The Word on Fire Team |
