Trump fires members of key election commission |
President Donald Trump terminated two of the federal Election Assistance Commission's three members, eliminating the panel's ability to help local election officials prepare for the 2026 midterms. The two commissioners selected by congressional Democrats were dismissed on Thursday. The vice chair who was selected by congressional Republicans, resigned June 9. "These removals leave the agency without leadership and unable to carry out its major responsibilities,” said Michael Waldman, of New York University School of Law.

When Catherine Laga'aia stopped showing up to school, classmates could have never possibly guessed why. The 19-year-old had just been cast in the title role of "Moana" (in theaters July 10), Disney's live-action remake of the 2016 animated hit. Laga'aia, then 17, was sworn to secrecy when she returned to her performing arts high school.

Despite her health struggles, Bonnie Tyler's love for music never wavered. The Grammy-nominated singer, who died Wednesday at age 75, celebrated the release of new music in her final Instagram post. Tyler, best known for her '80s power ballad "Total Eclipse of the Heart," shared a new song in her final post, which was published May 1, one week after the song's April 24 release.
