Is New World screwworm a risk to pets right now?
|

Veterinarians told USA TODAY to prevent infection, check your pets for potential wounds where the screwworm might make a home. Monitor wounds regularly for unusual swelling or discharge or a foul odor, as that might be a sign of fly larvae in wounds.
