Democratic primaries to replace longtime incumbents drew attention for demonstrating a generational change for the party. Perhaps the most impressive victory result came with Avila Chevalier, a doctoral student and community organizer, defeating Rep. Adriano Espaillat, D-New York, the head of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus by about four percentage points in a district covering northern Manhattan and a portion of the Bronx.

How soccer won over America |
Soccer has now replaced baseball as the third most popular sport in America, behind football and basketball, according to data analytics firm Ampere Analysis. The news comes as the U.S. is at the center of the soccer universe with Canada and Mexico as co-hosts of the men's World Cup. And, perhaps most significantly, Americans now embrace soccer culture.
