40 Years of Priesthood: Celebrating Bishop Barron’s Milestone
Dear Friend,
Tomorrow marks a monumental milestone for the Word on Fire community: Forty years ago, Bishop Robert Barron was ordained to the priesthood. As we look back on four decades of service, we are profoundly grateful to God for the gift of his vocation and his unwavering commitment to the Church.
On May 24, 1986, Bishop Barron—a graduate of Mundelein Seminary—was ordained for the Archdiocese of Chicago by Cardinal Joseph Bernardin at Holy Name Cathedral. Since that day, his mission has been clear: proclaim Christ to the culture.
For the past 26 years, Word on Fire has been a global leader in digital evangelization. A true pioneer in modern media, Bishop Barron set out to meet people where they spend their time: in the “digital public square” of the internet and social media.
From those early days to today, his reach has grown to millions, drawing souls into a deeper relationship with Christ through beauty, goodness, and truth.
Honor this milestone: We invite you to celebrate the international impact of Bishop Barron’s priesthood. His work has brought countless individuals back to the sacraments and introduced many more to the Catholic faith for the first time. Will you make a tribute gift today to commemorate Bishop Barron’s 40th ordination anniversary?
