I helped run ICE. I'm worried about the path we're on.

Immigration enforcement is not focused on serious threats. It's become politicized, disconnected from reality and increasingly dangerous for everyone. ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌  ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌

Today's Opinions

Wed Jan 14 2026

Immigration enforcement is not focused on serious threats. It's become politicized, disconnected from reality and increasingly dangerous for everyone.

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell claims on Jan. 11, 2026, that threats of criminal charges over his testimony to Congress is a guise. "This is about whether the Fed will be able to continue to set interest rates based on evidence and economic conditions – or whether instead monetary policy will be directed by political pressure or intimidation," Powell said.

How dumb does this president think we are?

President Trump's Justice Department has launched an investigation into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell for … you know … 'reasons' and such.

Trump doesn't know how to fix America's housing crisis

Trump should focus on increasing the housing supply and alleviating the burden his tariffs have put on the economy, rather than trying to cover it up.

Scott Adams, the creator of "Dilbert," the cartoon character that lampoons the absurdities of corporate life, poses with two "Dilbert" characters at a party in 1999 in Pasadena, California.

'Dilbert' creator Scott Adams showed how to live our final days

What's remarkable to me is not just how bravely 'Dilbert' creator Scott Adams died − working until the end − but how well he tried to live.

Rhea Seehorn in Apple TV's "Pluribus." For her role, Seehorn won best actress in a drama at the Golden Globes awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Jan. 11, 2026.

I just finished 'Pluribus.' It might be the most American show on TV.

The first season of 'Pluribus' is truly American. It stands against the siren song of collectivism currently growing in the U.S.

An annual gun buyback event in Lansing, Michigan, on Oct. 18, 2025. The year ended with fewer mass killings ‒ assaults resulting in four or more victim fatalities ‒ than any year since at least 2006, according to James Alan Fox, who oversees the Associated Press/USA TODAY/Northeastern University Mass Killing Database. Nearly half of deadly mass shootings occur in private homes.

Mass killings have plummeted, but we can't ignore sensible gun safety

2025 ended with fewer mass killings ‒ defined as assaults resulting in four or more victim fatalities ‒ than any year since at least 2006.

A protester against transgender athletes competing in women's sports joins a rally outside the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, DC, on Jan. 13, 2026.

What our daughter endured isn't isolated. Supreme Court can stop it.

Girls deserve the opportunity to compete on a level playing field. We hope the Supreme Court will uphold truth and protect girls' sports and spaces.
