Happy Thursday, booklovers!

Buckle up for a tell-all fall because we're officially in memoir season. September has already seen books from Priscilla Presley, Hoda Kotb, Mark Ronson and Charlie Sheen. October promises even more.

The memoir on everybody's lips this week is "107 Days" by Kamala Harris , a day-by-day recap of her presidential campaign sprint for the 2024 election. If you haven't secured a copy yet, we've got all your takeaways here.

Announced in July, "107 Days" was billed highly — Simon & Schuster CEO Jonathan Karp promised it "reads like a suspense novel." Pulitzer Prize-winning author Geraldine Brooks collaborated on the writing, an unusual choice for a political book.

I spent the day reading "107 Days" to find out for you whether that was true. And while there are certainly some suspenseful moments (Election Day, for one), my takeaway was no, it doesn't read like fiction. You can read our full recap to see why.

But that doesn't mean there weren't many juicy revelations. Harris shares the texts from Democrats who doubted she'd win, why she didn't pick Pete Buttigieg for a running mate and tension between her and Biden. She calls JD Vance a "shifty guy." Though not novelistic, it was a fairly candid peek behind the curtain, with many an expletive and ruminations on regret.
