OnPolitics: The good news is tomorrow is Wednesday

At this point we're looking for any signs of a Congressional agreement on COVID-19 relief. We might have gotten one today. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

OnPolitics: Pelosi vows to keep working towards COVID relief agreement
At this point we're looking for any signs of a Congressional agreement on COVID-19 relief. We might have gotten one today.

Maybe this is a sign of progress?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday the House will stay in session until a breakthrough is made on a coronavirus stimulus bill, while moderate lawmakers pressed leaders to come up with a relief deal before the November elections.

"We are committed to staying here until we have an agreement, an agreement that meets the needs of the American people," Pelosi said on CNBC Tuesday.

Her words signaled relief talks between congressional Democrats and President Donald Trump's White House may be salvaged even though the two sides don't appear any closer to an agreement.

Pelosi hasn't budged on her desire for a sweeping multi-trillion-dollar plan for aid to schools, the unemployed and cash-strapped local governments. And Republican leadership didn't appear any more open to recent Democratic proposals on Tuesday.

Science has endorsed Biden

Scientific American has announced its endorsement of Democratic nominee Joe Biden, the first time the magazine has endorsed a presidential candidate in its history.

The 175-year-old magazine's editors wrote that they felt compelled to break with tradition in 2020 because they believe President Donald Trump has mishandled the coronavirus pandemic, taken steps against environmental protections and threatened health care for Americans.

"The evidence and the science show that Donald Trump has badly damaged the U.S. and its people-because he rejects evidence and science," the editors wrote in the piece published Tuesday and part of the October 2020 issue.

The Scientific American is the "oldest continuously published magazine" in the country and has a global audience of more than 10 million people, according to its website.
