| • | Democrats used Lindsey Graham's Clinton impeachment speech in Trump's Senate trial. Graham said in 1999 that committing a crime isn't needed for impeachment. The tables have turned and now GOP defenders of Trump are saying the president committed no crime and shouldn't be impeached. | | • | Sen. Susan Collins said she was "stunned" by remarks given by House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, who accused senators of being complicit in a cover-up if they shot down measures to hear from additional witnesses. | | • | Republicans are eager to hear Trump's side. Trump's defense team will take the floor Saturday and GOP lawmakers are ready for it. "All I can tell you is from the president's point of view, he did nothing wrong in his mind," Graham said. | | • | Senators were spotted with fidget spinners as impeachment trial proceedings. Sens. | Trump shattered his record of 123 Twitter posts in a day - which was set Dec. 12 as the House Judiciary Committee debated two articles of impeachment against him - with 142 tweets and retweets, according to data compiled by Factbas.se. |
