Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, is in Russia, and he's invited Russian lawmakers to Washington; Rick Gates will again take the stand at Paul Manafort's trial a day after admitting to committing crimes with Manafort; and President Donald Trump will host some CEOs for dinner tonight at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf course.

There are primaries today in Kansas, Michigan, Missouri and Washington state, and a special election in Ohio. California is now fighting the largest fire in its history.
How Paul Ryan Works With Trump:
The House speaker says he confronts Trump in private and claims to have changed his thinking and behavior. That's according to a New York Times magazine profile by Mark Leibovich in which Ryan said, "I can look myself in the mirror at the end of the day and say I avoided that tragedy, I avoided that tragedy, I avoided that tragedy. I advanced this goal, I advanced this goal, I advanced this goal."
Ryan declined to name a specific tragedy he avoided, and also explained some of Trump's behavior as trying to get a rise out of "you guys," a group that included "the country," "the people who don't like him," the non-Trumpers" and even himself. Pence's Rule for Removing a President From Office:
CNN's KFile uncovered two columns written by future Vice President Mike Pence in the '90s arguing that presidents should be held to a high moral standard or not hold office. Pence wrote in one column:
"If you and I fall into bad moral habits, we can harm our families, our employers and our friends. The President of the United States can incinerate the planet. Seriously, the very idea that we ought to have at or less than the same moral demands placed on the Chief Executive that we place on our next door neighbor is ludicrous and dangerous.Throughout our history, we have seen the presidency as the repository of all of our highest hopes and ideals and values. To demand less is to do an injustice to the blood that bought our freedoms."
Alex Jones' Content-Distribution Empire Collapsing:
Shortly after Monday's COVER/LINE went out, the list of platforms that have banned Alex Jones and/or InfoWars got longer, with YouTube removing channels associated with Jones and his site. "When users violate ... policies repeatedly, like our policies against hate speech and harassment or our terms prohibiting circumvention of our enforcement measures, we terminate their accounts," a representative for YouTube said. Also, InfoWars apparently had a Pinterest page that has also been taken down as well.
InfoWars appears to be looking for alternate ways to reach its audience. One of its top articles, "Patriots Rally Behind Infowars Amid Tech's Total Communist Censorship," includes an in-article link to download the InfoWars app, and this widget inviting readers to subscribe to its newsletter and donate is at the bottom of article pages: | | Credit: InfoWars

Barack Obama got two dope pics for his birthday Saturday. The bottom left, from Michelle Obama, is so epic, and the bottom right, from Joe Biden, is a perfect mid-laugh selfie shot. I wrote here how they remind me of the "official photos" that get put out by Britain's royal family and Beyoncé, and how the Trump family has yet to master the art of the official photo. Inside the Store Where Paul Manafort Bought His Pricey Jackets:
CNN's Yasmin Khorram spoke with Nicolas Bijan, the 26-year-old CEO and owner of Bijan, the store where Manafort purchased many of the clothing items that have been brought up during his trial. Bijan's Beverly Hills location on Rodeo Drive is appointment only; its clothes are made by hand in Tuscany, Italy, and it only makes one or two of each piece. Bijan said it's unusual for customers to pay through wire transfer, which Manafort has been accused of doing. Bijan also said the store is neutral when it comes to politics. DeVos' McMansion Has "Mall Door," "Prom Stairs," Critic Says:
Betsy DeVos' summer home in Michigan has received the McMansion Hell treatment. The McMansion Hell blog, started by Kate Wagner, rips McMansions for their poor design by using arrows and commentary that's placed directly on images of homes. LeBron Is Getting His Own Show:
It's called "Shut Up and Dribble" (lol). James will be an executive producer, alongside business partner Maverick Carter and agent Rich Paul, for the three-part docu-series that will premiere in October, Showtime announced Monday. Director Gotham Chopra told ESPN the series will be "an exploration of how basketball is truly America's game and the NBA has been a vessel for black athletes to claim pieces of the American dream."
"House of Cards" Final Season to Premiere November 2:
Netflix announced the premiere date today. Lucky for us, November 2 is a Friday. I will maybe have an all-night viewing party in my living room?

Lady Gaga announced today that she'd have not one, but two different Las Vegas shows. "Lady Gaga Enigma" will be a traditional pop show with all the hits, and "Lady Gaga Jazz & Piano" will be "stripped-down versions of her hits as well as music from the Great American Songbook," according to the show's website. Opening night will be December 28.
