Twist it Like Troy

Troy James is flexible—like, human pretzel, touch your elbows to your toes to your nose flexible. Growing up, he hid his abilities after being teased by other kids, but today, his twist and turn has become his greatest asset. Troy has developed a successful Hollywood career as a creature actor, playing characters in TV and movies that move in ways that make the audience squirm. Now, he's turned his talents into a superpower.

Preserving Guatemala's Ancient Dance of the Gods

Baile del Venado is one of many Mayan dances integral to Guatemalan history and religion. In Patzún, Guatemala, villagers perform "The Deer Dance" once a year to celebrate the coexistence of humans and the natural world. Musician Juan Yool Gómez introduces us to the celebration he's participated in for more than 20 years.

Crafting the Perfect Sound

For the past 30 years, Paul Francis has been crafting the perfect sound, honing his skills at a company that has been in the business of making cymbals for 400 years. Making cymbals requires a unique process that only a select few in the world still know, involving shaping, hammering, burning, and, of course, a good ear. It takes years of practice and apprenticeship to truly nail down the art; now, Paul is passing down his expertise for generations to come.
