Rep. Elizabeth Esty wrote a letter to her colleagues about her former chief of staff, who allegedly made threats against other staffers in her office, vowing to take "specific actions" to make Capitol Hill safer. "As Members of Congress, we are all responsible for ensuring that we provide a safe and supportive environment for our staff. I can't rewrite the past -- but I can help right the future," Esty wrote.

A Monmouth poll found the percentage of Americans who believe traditional news sources such as television and newspapers report "fake news stories" either "on purpose in order to push an agenda" or "by accident or because of poor fact checking" is up from last year. | | Credit: Monmouth

Sinclair's Scripted News Media Bashing Goes Vi:
Catching local news reporters across the country repeating phrases was a popular trend about five years ago. "Conan" was the master of the genre, stitching together clips of anchors saying things like "yeah baby," "I scream, you scream, you know the rest" and "an item, or two, or ten." It's back again.
Deadspin used the format to show the anti-media message anchors at Sinclair-owned local TV news stations across the country had to repeat. Something about reporters reading from a corporate script about how the media is pushing an agenda feels all kinds of oof. Watch it here. Sydney Leathers Weighs in on Stormy:
Leathers, the Indiana woman who sexted with Anthony Weiner and later leaked those sexts in 2013, wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post about her experience and what it can tell us about Stormy Daniels.
Leathers said after she was outed as a woman Weiner sexted with, "I was no longer a person. I was a headline, a punchline, anything but a human being with feelings." She said she received death and rape threats, and considered considered committing suicide. She wrote:
"What people don't see are the stress, threats and harassment that come with being associated with a sex scandal, especially if you're a woman. There's so little to be gained by revealing the sexual misconduct of a powerful man, as I tried to do and as Daniels has done."
Roseanne is Out Here Tweeting Conspiracy Theories:
With all eyes on her after the success of the premiere of her revived show, Roseanne Barr tweeted Friday about a conspiracy theory that Trump is freeing children from a Satanic sex ring run by Democrats and celebrities.

James and filmmaker Stanley Nelson are executive producers of "Rise Up," a special about the Civil Rights movement airing on History Channel on Wednesday, the 50th anniversary of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s death. "PROUD!!" James wrote on Insta.

Street Art Sighting:
Miami artist Alessandra Mondolfi has been making props to be used in protests for about a year, and she makes street art out of them too, photographing them and putting up the images around town.
