Rex Tillerson holds a press conference on March 12,

It's Tuesday, OP fam. And fun fact: The last week that there wasn't a major departure from the Trump administration was the week of Feb. 19.

We know. We are also exhausted.

Catch up with the latest, subscribe here and let's go.

The case of T and Rex

After months of a rocky relationship, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson - he of calling-a-certain-someone-moron fame - was fired Tuesday by President Trump via Twitter ( because obviously). Trump cited disagreements on issues including North Korea, steel and aluminum tariffs and the Iran nuclear deal.

As for Tillerson, he didn't mention Trump at all in a speech he gave about his impending departure. But can you blame him? According to a State Department spokesman, Tillerson had wanted to stay at the department and didn't know the reasoning behind his dismissal. (The spokesman who issued this particular statement, by the way, was fired by the White House shortly afterward). And the president didn't call him until hours later.

Taking Tillerson's place at State will be CIA Director Mike Pompeo. And taking Pompeo's place at the CIA will be Gina Haspel. Both, of course, are pending Senate approval.

In other rocky news: Trump's personal assistant was fired after he lost his security clearance.

Wall of Wonder

After firing off a tweet that will have major implications for U.S. diplomacy, Trump traveled to California (with taco bowls as the in-flight meal) to tackle another foreign relations issue: The wall. He toured eight prototypes along the U.S.-Mexico border. His favorite? The one that border agents could see through, because "you can be two feet away from a criminal cartel and you don't even know that they are there."

He also wants taller walls, because they could prevent people who come across illegally who are like "professional mountain climbers."

Overall, what he really wants is the best design.

"We want to make it perfecto," he said.
