Good MorningU.S. stocks moved higher late Tuesday, led by the Nasdaq, as investors positioned for NVIDIA’s earnings and upcoming inflation data. Options markets are pricing a roughly 5% post-results move for NVIDIA, with investors focused on guidance and gross margins. AI infrastructure remained a central theme, lifting interest in semiconductor networking, photonics, liquid cooling and power suppliers.
Retail was a notable weak spot. DICK’s Sporting Goods slid after cutting guidance and warning of a more promotional environment, pressuring Nike and Academy Sports as well. Amazon also slipped, with elevated AI spending and pressure on free cash flow remaining areas of investor focus.
Elsewhere, U.S.-Canada trade tensions raised renewed concerns about inflation, while uranium and advanced nuclear names, including Oklo, gained momentum. Corporate developments included Siemens Energy’s plan to sell most of its industrial division to focus on utilities, Abbott’s FDA authorization for a device that continuously monitors ketones and glucose, and United Airlines’ broad international expansion plans for 2027.
