Tennessee QB Faizon Brandon
Josh Heupel named Brandon the starting quarterback Monday, and the true freshman beat out George MacIntyre. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound five-star brings a live arm and plus athleticism, and he'll lean on a receiving corps that includes Mike Matthews, Braylon Staley, DeSean Bishop and Ethan Davis. There's a growing belief Tennessee's passing game turns a corner after three straight seasons below the SEC average in explosive pass rate.
USC TE Mark Bowman
USC is counting on true freshman Mark Bowman to make an instant impact at tight end. The Mater Dei product and Rivals five-star is the highest-paid freshman at the position, and his refined routes and elite short-area quickness should let him step right into the role vacated by Lake McRee in Lincoln Riley's offense.
Ohio State DB Jay Timmons
Arguably the top pound-for-pound player in the 2026 class, Timmons has turned heads in fall camp, notable given Ohio State's deep roster. The Rivals five-star plays with an instinctive, versatile edge, and his clearest path to early snaps runs through nickelback.
