Hi! Rebecca Morin here. It's almost June, yet it's chilly and rainy here in Washington, D.C. I'm manifesting warmer weather soon!

Trouble in paradise

Elon Musk , once a fixture at the White House, doesn't want the blame. In a media blitz since scaling back his work with President Donald Trump's administration, Musk complained about criticisms of the Department of Government Efficiency and said he was dismayed that the president's sweeping tax and policy bill passed by the House increases the budget deficit. Musk said DOGE, which he led, "is just becoming the whipping boy for everything," in an interview with the Washington Post. What Musk said about DOGE.

Musk, the world's richest man, in a separate interview with CBS Sunday Morning said he was "disappointed" with the cost of Trump's massive tax legislation that he's dubbed as the "big, beautiful bill." Musk said the bill, which would extend Trump's 2017 tax cuts, boost defense and border security spending and implement new requirements for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, "undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing." What Musk said about the megabill.
