Netflix says it will buy Warner Bros. Discovery for $72 billion. President Donald says on Dec. 7, 2025, that he would be involved in the review of the deal, and that the combined entity's market share "could be a problem." The next day, Paramount Skydance launched a hostile bid worth $108.4 billion for Warner Bros. Discovery. According to Reuters, Paramount's bid includes financing from Affinity Partners, the investment firm run by Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, and several   Middle Eastern government-run investment funds, and is backstopped by the Ellison family. Larry Ellison, the world's second-richest person, is the father of Paramount head David Ellison and has close ties to the White House.
 

Streaming prices are up. A Netflix, Warner Bros. deal may change that.
