Abrego Garcia ordered freed |
A Salvadoran immigrant whose deportation to a prison for terrorists became a flashpoint in the fight over the Trump Administration's immigration practices and policies has been ordered freed from prison by a federal judge. He's faced charges of human trafficking, and his legal battles may not be over as the Justice Department said it would appeal. | Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran migrant who lived in the U.S. legally with a work permit and was erroneously deported to El Salvador, is seen wearing a Chicago Bulls hat, in this handout image obtained by Reuters on April 9, 2025.
