President Donald Trump's efforts to limit birthright citizenship were blocked again. The "Love Island USA" drama continues. And a super movie flies into theaters this weekend. |
Trump's birthright citizenship efforts blocked by judge | President Donald Trump's administration is once again blocked from enforcing his executive order limiting birthright citizenship nationwide, after the Supreme Court restricted the ability of judges to use nationwide injunctions to halt his policies. U.S. District Judge Joseph Laplante in Concord, New Hampshire, issued the ruling Thursday after immigrant rights advocates implored him to grant class-action status to a lawsuit aimed at representing any babies whose citizenship status would be threatened by implementation of Trump's directive. Laplante agreed, allowing him to issue a new judicial order blocking implementation of the Republican president's policy nationwide.
