Trump's birthright citizenship efforts blocked by judge

President Donald Trump's administration is once again blocked from enforcing his executive order limiting birthright citizenship nationwide, after the Supreme Court restricted the ability of judges to use nationwide injunctions to halt his policies. U.S. District Judge Joseph Laplante in Concord, New Hampshire, issued the ruling Thursday after immigrant rights advocates implored him to grant class-action status to a lawsuit aimed at representing any babies whose citizenship status would be threatened by implementation of Trump's directive. Laplante agreed, allowing him to issue a new judicial order blocking implementation of the Republican president's policy nationwide. What to know about the ruling.

'Love Island USA' star issues an apology

After her abrupt exit from the "Love Island USA" villa, Cierra Ortega has addressed alleged Instagram posts and messages in which she used a racist slur against people of Asian descent to refer to her eyes. Wearing a sweater with the word "empathy" across it, Ortega, 25, issued an apology in a nearly five-minute Instagram video to "not just anyone that I have hurt or deeply offended, but most importantly, the entire Asian community." Ortega was phased out of the Peacock romance competition show on Sunday, a move she said she agreed with. See what Ortega said in her apology.

Americans in Wimbledon

It was an upset. World No. 12 Amanda Anisimova is heading to her first Wimbledon Grand Slam final after defeating top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka in the women's singles semifinals on Thursday. Anisimova, 23, will face the winner of the other semifinal between No. 4 Iga Swiatek and No. 35 Belinda Bencic in the final on Saturday. The last time an American woman won Wimbledon was in 2016, when Serena Williams claimed the title. See Anismova's winning moment.

Men's semifinals: Taylor Fritz, the No. 5 seed, has made history by reaching the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time. The last American man to reach that stage was John Isner in 2018. Fritz will go up against No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz on Friday. The winner will advance to the final, which takes place Sunday. See the schedule of the remaining games.
