Nine spellers, ages 12 to 14, advanced to the final round over the first two days of the national competition, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Faizan Zaki, 13, the 2024 runner-up, is among those in the finals, which begin at 8 p.m. ET. The Scripps Cup and a $50,000 cash prize are on the line for the finalists. The latest in the Trump-Harvard feud | The Trump administration walked back its directive that revokes Harvard's ability to enroll international students after a federal judge sided with the Ivy League college. U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs in Boston said she planned to issue a preliminary injunction that blocks the Department of Homeland Security from following through with the directive. The Trump administration filed a document in court shortly before a hearing Thursday saying it would provide Harvard with a 30-day process to contest its removal from the international student program. A Swiss village 'under rubble' after glacier collapse | Mud, rocks and ice. Blatten, a small village in Switzerland, is covered in debris after a glacier partially collapsed in the Swiss Alps this week, causing a mudslide. The village, which has an estimated population of 300, was evacuated days before the collapse. One person is missing, according to Reuters.
