Trump's trade war with China escalates | The trade war isn't cooling down. President Donald Trump will hit China with 104% tariffs starting at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday – escalating a tit for tat between the two countries. China earlier this week threatened a 34% tariff on U.S. goods in response to Trump's recent tariff announcements. The president had already set a 20% tariff for imports from China and announced an additional 34% on Chinese goods. Trump's tariffs are set to go into effect on Wednesday. |
What about stocks? Wall Street saw a glimmer of hope. And then it fell. U.S. markets closed lower again on Tuesday, erasing early gains after the White House doubled down on its aggressive tariff plan, including the new tariffs on goods from China. The company revealed the recent successful birth of three snowy white dire wolf puppies – an animal that was extinct. The company, which is also working to bring back the woolly mammoth, used DNA from a 13,000-year-old tooth and a 72,000-year-old skull combined with genetic information from the modern-day gray wolf to make the dire wolf puppies. 🐺 The 'magic' behind the project. | Shown at 15 days old are two male dire wolves, Romulus and Remus, born by surrogate dog mothers from fertilized and implanted genetically-edited eggs with the ancient DNA of dire wolves.
