Southwest's switch-up

Do you travel light? Well, some frequent Southwest Airlines travelers will have to start to. The airline is overhauling many of its unique features, including changes to its bag and seating policies. Though some frequent flyers told USA TODAY they plan to wait and see how the changes affect them, others are considering returning to competing airlines.

What changed? Southwest announced that the two-free-bag policy will be exclusive to Southwest Rapid Rewards A-List Preferred Members and Business Select fare passengers starting May 28. Last year, the airline revealed it will switch to assigned seating in 2026. ✈️ What Southwest loyalists think about the changes.
