Cruise ships became the early sites of high-profile outbreaks, countries closed their borders and some states restricted movement.

Plane catches fire in Denver

An American Airlines plane caught fire Thursday night at Denver International Airport, forcing passengers to evacuate by slides, the FAA said.

The airline said it was an engine-related issue.

The engine fire is the latest in a series of high-profile aviation incidents that have raised questions about U.S. aviation safety.
