Academy Award-winning actor Gene Hackman, his wife, Betsy Arakawa, and one of their dogs were found dead Wednesday at their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. President Donald Trump isn't turning away from tariffs. Trump said Thursday that his proposed 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico will take effect Tuesday. The tariffs were paused this month in exchange for agreements to address border security, but Trump said he wasn't satisfied with the progress. EU gets hit, too: Trump also said this week that he was going to hit the European Union with 25% tariffs, criticizing the union for not accepting many U.S. exports like cars and agricultural products. Several groups of activists and consumers plan a 24-hour "economic blackout" Friday, one in a series of boycotts to protest "corporate greed" and the rollback of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives by companies and the Trump administration.
