Kendrick Lamar and Drake's beef played out live at the Super Bowl. Speaking of the big game, who had the best commercial? And luck might be running out for pennies.

👋 Hello! Rebecca Morin here. Let's hop on Monday's news.

But first: Did Cupid's arrow find a match? 💘 After a nationwide search, see who USA TODAY reporter Erin Jensen picked for her Valentine's Day date.

K-Dot vs. Drizzy

"Say, Drake." The smile across Kendrick Lamar's face during his Super Bowl performance said it all. The Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper brought his feud with Drake to one of the world's most-watched stages. Lamar, who headlined the halftime show on Sunday, filled his show with symbolism about the state of the U.S. – but also highlighted his ongoing beef with Drake during his performance of his diss track "Not Like Us."

What's the beef? The feud between Drake and Lamar has been simmering for years. They've been taking shots at each other in songs dating as far back as 2013. But things boiled over last year when the rappers traded nine diss tracks, with some including serious allegations about each. 🎵 A breakdown of the feud.

Who had the best Super Bowl ad?

You can't say no to the majestic Clydesdales. Budweiser brought back the beloved horses to win USA TODAY's 2025 Ad Meter as the Super Bowl's best commercial – the ninth time the brand has claimed the prize. In a spot called "First Delivery," a foal journeys to deliver a keg. Anheuser-Busch had four ads finishing in the top eight. 📺 See who else won.

Blasts of snow

Looks like I'm going to holed up in my apartment for the next couple of days. A blast of snow and ice from two winter storms will be blanketing the Midwest and East Coast.

Winter storms: Starting Monday night, a winter storm will bring light snow to cities like Kansas City, Missouri. But it is only going to get more dangerous as it moves east. Washington, D.C., and suburbs like Arlington, Virginia, can expect 4-6 inches of snow Tuesday and early Wednesday. A second storm hitting Kansas City on Wednesday will drop a foot of snow, while other cities like Chicago can see 3-6 inches of snow. ❄️ What the weather forecast says.

In California, another atmospheric river brings flood, mudslide concerns.

Trump plans to stop making new pennies

See a penny, pick it up, and soon it might be a luckier find. President Donald Trump announced that he's instructing the Treasury Department to stop minting pennies – ending a 233-year run of the 1-cent coin. Minting a penny costs more than 2 cents, Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. The United States wouldn't be the first country to eliminate small coins: Canada stopped making pennies back in 2012. 💰 More on Trump's plan.

Americans say it's 'time to move on' from pennies.
Poll: Majority of US adults approve of Trump's presidency.
