FBI Director Christopher Wray to resign amid criticism from President-elect Trump FBI Director Christopher Wray was appointed by Donald Trump in 2017, but he's not sticking around for the president-elect's next term. Wray will resign next month at the end of President Joe Biden's term after key Senate Republicans have called for him to step aside and Trump has chosen a successor for his next administration.
