Hello OnPolitics readers! Here's a look at the latest mystery in Washington: Cocaine was found in a White House lobby, prompting an evacuation and a Secret Service investigation.

Wait, really? Yes, agents discovered cocaine Sunday night in the White House's West Wing lobby, where guests can enter the building before taking private tours, USA TODAY's Joey Garrison reports.

White House staff can give West Wing tours to visitors who go through background screenings before being allowed in the building. Guests and staff also have to go through metal-detector screenings.

What to know: Officials haven't confirmed whether a person on a tour left the illegal drugs. Anthony Guglielmi, a Secret Service spokesman, did confirm to USA TODAY that the cocaine was found within the reception area.

President Joe Biden was away from the White House when the substance was discovered. The president returned to the White House on Tuesday morning after spending time at Camp David.
