Are Chinese spies targeting Alaska?

๐Ÿ•ต️Chinese citizens posing as tourists but suspected of being spies have made several attempts in recent years to gain access to military facilities in Alaska, according to U.S. officials. Why Alaska? The state increasingly is seen as key to U.S. homeland defense given its proximity to Russia, the ballistic missile threat from North Korea, and rising tensions with China. Read more

US Figure Skating hire rekindles controversy

⛸️More than four years after U.S. Figure Skating was rocked by the suspension and death of John Coughlin, a national champion accused by at least four female skaters of sexual assault, the organization has hired a well-known supporter of Coughlin's for a key role working with its athletes. The decision to hire Kelsey Parker Gislason was criticized by the highest-profile skater to come forward with allegations against Coughlin: Ashley Wagner, a national champion and Olympic medalist. New online HBCU program falling short of its promise to Black men

๐ŸŽ“An online program launched by historically Black Morehouse College and a for-profit education company has fallen far short of the promises it made, students say. In promotional materials, the school touted its mission to serve Black men who started college but never graduated. But from the start, Morehouse and the for-profit 2U have struggled to meet demand, leaving students to pay the price. Read more
