7 dead after car slams into crowd in Brownsville, Texas |
Seven people were killed and at least 10 more were injured when a vehicle slammed into a crowd at a city bus stop in Brownsville, Texas, police said Sunday. Police said the crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. at a bus stop near a shelter for migrants and homeless in Brownsville, which is a major border crossing into Matamoros, Mexico. King Charles III was officially crowned after taking oath as the British monarch during coronation ceremonies Saturday. His wife, Queen Consort Camilla, was also crowned. The event marked a formal confirmation of the role as head of state for Charles, who has been monarch from the moment his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died on Sept. 8. Mage wins Kentucky Derby in day marred by death of two horses |
Chestnut colt Mage overcame a slow start, charged to the front down the stretch and then held on to claim a surprise victory in the 149th Kentucky Derby on Saturday at Churchill Downs in Louisville. Trained by Gustavo Delgado and jockeyed by Hall of Famer Javier Castellano, Mage raced on 15-1 odds and beat Two Phil's by a length to win with a time of 2:01.57. But the day was marred by the death of two horses. Freezing Point and Chloe's Dream were euthanized after racing earlier in the day. Tiger Woods' former girlfriend accuses him of sexual harassment |
The ex-girlfriend of Tiger Woods has accused him of sexual harassment , saying he pursued a sexual relationship with her when she was his employee and then forced her to sign a non-disclosure agreement about it – or be fired from her job if she did not, according to a document filed by her attorney Friday in a Florida state court. Erica Herman worked at Woods' restaurant, The Woods, in Jupiter, Florida, when they began their relationship. "Mr. Woods was Ms. Herman's boss," said Herman's attorney.
