About last night's Supreme Court leak...
A variety of opinions and voices on Justice Alito's leaked draft:

We bring you varying voices and opinions about the leaked draft from the U.S. Supreme Court that suggests that the court may overturn Roe V. Wade — the landmark decision that legalizes abortion.

Protect the unborn but don't help the poor. This is valuing life?

By Suzette Hackney

Freedom.

It's one of the rallying cries of the Republican Party. Yet those conservatives who are anti-abortion are also often opposed to government assistance and social programs that can aid families in need.

Protect the unborn. But also protect our pockets.

If Roe v. Wade is overturned, which has been suggested by a draft decision leaked Monday indicating a majority of Supreme Court justices have voted to do so, many of those children – when their mothers aren't afforded the freedom to decide whether to carry them to term – will become another statistic.

Alito's draft opinion on abortion is clear and courageous

By Ashley McGuire

Are we really shocked that the draft opinion in the most significant Supreme Court case in 50 years was leaked? We certainly should be, as the leak is, to quote legal scholar Carter Snead, a "shocking act of betrayal and a breathtaking breach of ethics."

To those who don't follow Supreme Court politicking closely, the leak matters because it is an act of corruption of the highest order, one that appears to have been done to exert political pressure on the justices to change their opinions.

The justices represent the one branch of government that was designed to be independent of political pressure. The leaker strikes at the heart of the American system of government and its design.

Supreme Court leak on abortion case reeks of political calculation

By Jonathan Turley

Justice Sonia Sotomayor surprised many court watchers in December during the oral argument in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization when she complained about the "stench" of politics pervading the case over abortion rights.

The stench became overwhelming Monday night when Politico published a leaked copy of a working draft of the majority opinion in Dobbs. Chief Justice John Roberts verified the draft's authenticity Tuesday and launched an investigation.

The leak was a despicable act that shocked even the most cynical in Washington.
