Welcome to Thursday, Talking Tech readers. The weather is gradually warming. Baseball is back. And Brett Molina returns with your tech headlines. |
Let's start with Google, which rolled out a really cool new way to search for stuff. |
It's a multisearch feature available through Google Lens, a visual search option where users can take images and directly look it up on Google. |
With multisearch, you can use text, too. Let's say you find a great pair of shoes, but you want them in a different color. You can snap a picture of the shoes, type out the color in the text field, and Google spits out shoes in that color. |
Right now, Google says the results from multisearch work best for shopping. You can access Lens using the Google app on iOS and Android. |
What else happened in Tech? |
THE ADVENTURES OF ELON MUSK AND TWITTER. The billionaire bought a stake in Twitter, making him their largest shareholder. Twitter then said Musk is joining its board. |
JACK DORSEY'S REGRETS. The co-founder of Twitter said he's "partially to blame" for centralizing the internet into the hands of corporations. |
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, APPLE. They turned 46. They don't look a day over 35. |
REPAIR YOUR OWN PHONE? A new Samsung program will offer the option for Galaxy devices. |
Thursday's tech tip |
Dealing with account hacks sucks. But sometimes cybercrooks are so good you're not sure whether it's happened. Follow these tips to find out if you've been hacked and how to fix it. |
