This week I'm putting the spotlight on a trio of great reads from the USA TODAY Investigations team:

►On Facebook Marketplace, deadly recalled products are still widely available for purchase. USA TODAY recently discovered at least 170 listings for recalled items, including products that have contributed to the deaths of at least 121 children. Here are 10 products to watch out for.

►In 2018, Congress and then-President Donald Trump passed the Mission Act, which states that when the Department of Veterans Affairs can't deliver care for a patient, it's supposed to pay other health care systems to do it instead. But an inewsource/USA TODAY investigation found that VA administrators are overruling doctors' judgments and preventing them from sending patients outside the VA system in an effort to save money and retain patients.

►A Florida foster mother charged with beating and strangling 4-year-old Joy King-Castro to death in August had just four months earlier faced allegations of physically abusing a pair of foster siblings. Lakeisha Mitchell has been accused of first-degree murder and other charges. A USA TODAY investigation last year found that the state sent nearly 200 boys and girls to foster parents previously accused of abuse or neglect.
