The Daily Money: $200/month charge for refusing vaccine?

In today's Daily Money newsletter, we have insights on Delta Air Lines, OnlyFans, Peloton and retirement accouunts. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Good morning, it's Nathan hoping you have a sweet Wednesday.

🍩🍩 If one donut wasn't enough, how about two?

Krispy Kreme made a splash earlier this year by offering one free donut per day to customers who show their COVID vaccine cards. Now, they're upping it to two from Aug. 30 through Sept. 5.

"The FDA approving one of the vaccines is a meaningful step in making people a lot more comfortable with how they take vaccines," Krispy Kreme CEO Mike Tattersfield told our Kelly Tyko in an exclusive interview. "And if we can encourage folks, we're giving away a second ... in the shape of a heart."

Since the promotion began March 22, the company has given away more than 2.5 million donuts to vaccinated customers.

Are they unhealthy? Sure.

But, listen, we'll all go on a diet after the pandemic is over, OK?

On to our ...

💡 INSIGHT OF THE DAY: A few weeks ago, I reported that companies may start applying surcharges to the health care premiums of unvaccinated workers. Now it's happening. Delta Airlines just announced a $200-per-month surcharge charge for workers who refuse to get vaccinated.

📰 And here are more stories you won't want to miss:

1. The South and Midwest have historically been known as affordable places to live: But rising prices are starting to make the cost of living there higher.

2. OnlyFans angered content creators when it moved to ban sexually explicit content. Now it's back-tracking.

3. So, your employer has a mediocre retirement plan? Here's how to make the most of it.

4. The Peloton treadmill was temporarily discontinued after a major recall following the death of a child. Now it's making a comeback with new safety features.

5. The world's fastest-accelerating roller coaster has been temporarily shut down. Several injuries were reported on the Do-Dodonpa roller coaster at the Fuji-Q Highland amusement park in Japan.

The roller coaster, which opened in 2017, apparently reaches speeds of nearly 112 mph in just 1.56 seconds.

🤢 I think I'm gonna be sick just thinking about it.
