| When iOS 15 rolls out, and Apple asks to see my ID, I think I'm going to pass. |
| Earlier this week, Apple hosted its Worldwide Developers Conference, which included a keynote address highlighting all the changes coming to your iPhone through iOS 15. |
| Expect upgrades to FaceTime (but no Android app), your smartphone notifications, and some Apple apps like Maps and Weather. |
| But the upgrade that stuck out most to me was Wallet, the handy app iPhone users can whip out to access their gift cards, grocery store discount cards, or movie tickets. |
| Want even more convenience? Soon, you can add your personal identification like a driver's license, your house keys, your car keys, and hotel keys when you travel. Useful, right? |
| Hold up. |
| Look, I appreciate Apple wanting to make lives easier. The thought of just grabbing my phone to access my ID at, say, a security checkpoint at the airport feels really helpful if you're in a hurry. |

| However, no way I want that much information tied up on my iPhone. For starters, I already get anxious if I fear I've lost my phone. Certainly that will be a fun feeling misplacing a device with your ID, house keys, car keys, credit cards (if you use Apple Pay), on top of access to your email and social media accounts. To its credit, Apple has tools such as Find My to locate and remotely wipe your phone, plus it's introducing an iOS 15 update to locate a device even when turned off. |
| Another reason: What if I decide I want an Android phone instead? It feels like a lot to untangle with so much information embedded to your iPhone. |
