The Short List

Saturday, February 6

Friends of The Short List, it's game time. Almost.

We're just a day away from that greatest of all sporting events – the Super Bowl! When the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers kick off Super Bowl 55 at 6:30 p.m. ET Sunday, it will be a game like none other. Consider the quarterback matchup: It's The GOAT against The Kid , Tampa Bay's Tom Brady trying to win a seventh title while Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs try to be the first team to repeat as NFL champions since the 2004 season.

The Buccaneers, meanwhile, will be the first team to host a Super Bowl in their own stadium. Definitely makes the family travel plans easier. On the sadder side, attendance at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium will be capped at 22,000 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

And then there are the advertisements! Be sure to register for USA TODAY's Ad Meter, the premier tracker of public opinion on big game ads. To check out all the ads submitted so far, click here.
