Is Iowa about to predict the next president?

The first major event of the presidential election season has officially begun: The Iowa Caucuses . Iowa Democrats and Republicans will assemble at caucus sites tonight to make their choice for who they want to be president. The stakes for presidential hopefuls are incredibly high: The first-in-the-nation event is looked at as a way to foreshadow how well a candidate might do going forward – and who should call it quits. But no pressure, candidates! Every single winner of the Iowa Democratic caucuses since 2000 has just casually gone on to win the Democratic nomination. So nooo pressure at all. The USA TODAY Network will have dozens of reporters, including 2020 editor Annah Aschbrenner, spread across Iowa and the world to bring you the latest coverage from caucus sites. Follow along here!

China accuses the US of spreading fear about the coronavirus

China's foreign ministry said Monday that the U.S. has not helped contain the outbreak of coronavirus but has instead spread fear by imposing travel bans . More than 17,000 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in China and 183 across 26 other countries from an outbreak that has killed 362 people. There are 11 confirmed cases in the U.S. Last week, the U.S. State Department issued a travel advisory telling Americans not to go to China because of the virus. A spokeswoman for the Chinese foreign ministry, Hua Chunying, said the U.S. has "inappropriately overreacted" by issuing the travel advisory.

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira's Super Bowl show was a talker

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira broke the internet on Sunday. During Sunday's Super Bowl halftime show in Florida, the two stars delivered a set complete with pole-dancing, a children's choir and a meme-able tongue moment. Online, the performance sparked quite the debate: Was it empowering to watch two women of color over 40 performing in a provocative way? Or had we reverted back to a pre-#MeToo moment of objectifying women?
