Happy New Year's Eve, Money readers, Mike Snider here filling in with the latest financial and business news on the last day of 2019.

The stock market has one last full day of trading this year and as markets reporter Jessica Menton notes, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 have each climbed more than 20% this year.

Heading into 2020, her outlook story suggests stocks could continue to climb despite some concerns about volatility in regards to trade talks and the 2020 elections.
