The Daily Money

Wednesday, December 25

Merry Christmas, Money readers, Mike Snider here filling in during the holidays and bringing you the latest financial and business news.

While nearly all retailers are closed today, for last-minute needs there are some stores open including drug stores CVS and Walgreens and convenience stores such as 7-Eleven and Wawa.

There's never a good time to have food products pulled from the shelves – and customers' refrigerators – but a Christmas Eve recall particularly leaves a bad taste. And that's what happened to Trader Joe's, which had egg and potato salads recalled from stores in 30 states and the District of Columbia for risks of Listeria contamination.

Keeping up with streaming TV options is a year-round pursuit – and lately, posing a more costly option. Sling TV is the latest live TV streamer to raise its prices, hiking its monthly bill $5. Subscribers do get some new channels including Fox News.

Keep scrolling down for more Money news. And Happy Holidays.

Mike Snider, Money/Tech reporter and editor.
