Where Chimpanzees Go To Retire

In 2013, a federal law retired all chimpanzees at the National Institutes of Health from lab testing. Chimp Haven was founded to respond to the need for long-term chimpanzee care. Located on 200 acres of forested land near Shreveport, La., the sanctuary is home to more than 200 chimps who get to roam free and spend their days as it suits them.
