OnPolitics Today: Trump googled himself and didn't like it one bit

President Donald Trump thinks too many negative stories come up when you search his name, so he wants to regulate Google. Googling himself not as fun as Trump hoped
President Donald Trump thinks too many negative stories come up when you search his name, so he wants to regulate Google. OnPolitics Tuesday.

President Donald Trump was not pleased to discover that a lot of critical stories pop up when someone searches Google for "Trump News."

The president therefore issued a tweet declaring the search engine "RIGGED" in a tweet on Tuesday and later said in the Oval Office that the tech giant was "taking advantage of people."

Trump put Google on notice, along with Facebook and Twitter, saying they are "really treading on very, very troubled territory" and warning them "to be careful."

Larry Kudlow, the president's top economic adviser, explained that Trump is considering new regulations on Google's search engine to address his concerns.

Google said algorithms, not politics, determine search results. Democratic lawmakers suggested the president do a Google search for the term "First Amendment."

Florida governor race boils down to Trump vs. Bernie

The race to become Florida's next governor got interesting Tuesday.

Rep. Ron DeSantis, a three-term congressman backed by Trump, won Florida's Republican gubernatorial primary Tuesday, beating Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam. He will face Tallahassee mayor Andrew Gillum, a progressive candidate backed by Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Polls are also closing in Arizona, where Kelli Ward, a sharp critic of the late Sen. John McCain, is hoping to upset establishment candidate Rep. Martha McSally in the state's Republican Senate primary.

Hurricane Maria death toll reaches 3,000

The White House promised "full accountability and transparency" in assessing the death toll in Puerto Rico that resulted when Hurricane Maria tore across the island in September 2017 after a new study put the number of dead at almost 3,000 people . That would represent a sharp increase from the earlier official estimate of 64 dead and would make Maria the second-deadliest hurricane in American history.
