Dancing for Freedom in the Middle East

In Lebanon, a country where the LGBTQ community still faces extreme discrimination, a scene is emerging that gives everyone a safe space to celebrate and express themselves. It's voguing, a dance form created for and by people of color within the LGBTQ community in New York City in the 1980s. Now, dancers like Hoedy Saad are continuing the tradition in the Middle East. 

The Art of Blade Therapy

In Taiwan, massage therapy gets an edge. Dao Liao, or "blade therapy," has been around for over 2,500 years, first originating in ancient China as an alternative to traditional medicine. Practitioners use specially blunted knives instead of hands to refresh and renew their clientele. The technique is believed to relieve headaches, sores, back pains and migraines and continues to be very popular in Taiwanese culture.
