The Monkey Whisperer

For the past 21 years, forest ranger Xiao Zhijin has cared for a group of endangered François' leaf monkeys in Guizhou Province's Mayang River National Nature Reserve. He's worked hard to build a relationship of mutual trust, and his familiarity with the animals' rituals and behaviors has helped scientists to better understand the entire species.

The Towns That Embraced Darkness to See Starlight

Light pollution is no joke. As our cities grow bigger and brighter, fewer Americans get to take in the breathtaking grandeur of the Milky Way. Sensing this, the residents of Westcliffe and Silver Cliff, two small towns in Colorado, purposefully dimmed their towns' lights.
