Farming Under the Sea

Seventy miles off the coast of mainland Japan is the small island of Okinawa, home to some of the most unique seaweed in the world. Mozuku is a rare underwater delicacy found off the mainland coast. Each fall, farmer Tadashi Oshiro uses a special technique to sustainably harvest the seaweed. 

Fighting Epic Traffic Jams With Two Wheels

The average Nigerian spends hours of their day stuck in traffic. Entrepreneurs Adetayo Bamiduro and Chinedu Azodoh are trying to change that. Their app connects locals with motorcyclists that can weave their way through gridlock, giving Nigerians back some extra time and workers reliable, competitive employment.

The Warrior Monk Who Brought Kung Fu to America

Shifu Shi Yan Ming was the first to bring Shaolin kung fu to the United States. Trained as a Shaolin Temple Warrior Monk in China, he was on a tour of the U. S. in 1992 when he defected. By 1994, he had moved to New York City where he opened USA Shaolin Temple and began training students, including Wu-Tang Clan. The rest is history.
