We just can't get enough O.J. |
No, we haven't traveled back to 1995, although feeling as if we did is understandable after turning on cable news to see find O.J. Simpson on the screen. This time, Simpson was before a Nevada parole board seeking his freedom after nine years in prison on charges tied to an armed confrontation with memorabilia collectors in Las Vegas. Yet, all we could think about was his 1995 murder trial for the deaths of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. (Simpson was acquitted.) All the names rush back: Kato Kaelin, Lance Ito, Johnnie Cochran, Marcia Clark. We even wonder what happened to that white Ford Bronco driven in TV's most memorable police car chase. Twenty-two years later, the names and circumstances differ. But there's been one constant: We're addicted to The Juice. |
That next Trump-Sessions meeting could get awkward |
President Trump used an interview with The New York Times to slam Attorney General Jeff Sessions — again — for recusing himself from an investigation into Russian interference during the presidential campaign. Trump said had he known that Sessions would do that, he never would have picked him for the AG job. Sessions isn't going anywhere , telling reporters Thursday he will stay as long as is appropriate. "We love this job," Sessions said. But how long will he hold on to it? |
An East Coast Hyperloop? Don't tease us, Elon Musk |
Want to travel from Washington, D.C., to New York City in under 30 minutes? So do we! And if Elon Musk — CEO of Tesla and SpaceX (not to mention candidate for a real-life Tony Stark) — has his way, the Hyperloop transportation system is headed East. A Hyperloop is already under construction on the West Coast, with the promise of taking passengers from Los Angeles to San Francisco in 30 minutes. Musk tweeted Thursday that he received "verbal govt approval" for his Boring Company to work on a Hyperloop system covering Baltimore, D.C., Philadelphia and New York. Better hope he gets that in writing. |
American Idol: New network, same host |
The reality-competition series American Idol has a new home on ABC (it used to air on Fox), but viewers will find a familiar face as host. ABC confirmed Ryan Seacrest will return to host the show. That job had launched his entertainment career, leading to his seat next to Kelly Ripa on morning TV. The show already has its first official judge: pop star Katy Perry. Just don't expect Simon Cowell or Randy Jackson to walk on to the stage, again. Sorry, dawg. |

The last thing you want served at a McDonald's (or any restaurant) |
This discovery from BBC One is certainly a whopper: Ice served at fast food chains including Burger King, McDonald's and KFC contained traces of fecal coliform, better known as poop bacteria . According to BBC One's investigation, ice at three McDonald's, six Burger Kings and seven KFC locations in the United Kingdom tested positive for the bacteria. The restaurants said they are dedicated to keeping their restaurants clean. In the meantime, maybe consider ordering bottled water. |
