How This Swiss Milk Soup Stopped a War

Kappeler Milchsuppe is a Swiss milk soup with quite a history. Its origin goes all the way back to 1529. Legend has it that this soup was created by hungry infantrymen. They were on opposite sides of a conflict between Catholics and Protestants, but they put down their weapons and pooled their milk and bread to make and share soup. A soup that is credited with bringing peace to the region and honored with a memorial on a battlefield.

This Roller Derby Team Is Jamming for Indigenous Representation

Sure, the members of Team Indigenous love the thrills and spills that make roller derby such an exciting sport. But being on the track is about a lot more than scoring points for these women. It's meaningful. It's about representation and togetherness. April Fournier co-founded the team made up of First Nations and Indigenous women from tribal nations throughout the world. Now, they're lacing up their skates to break down walls and bring diversity and inclusion to roller derby and society.
